So today was the final day to prepare for our long cross-country drive. We have been very organized and felt ahead of schedule. We decided around 7 pm it would be wise to pack the cars tonight and take the bed apart to make sure everything fit in the cars. We also had an air mattress to sleep in for the night. After 10 pm we were able to disassemble the bed and fill the cars with our stuff.
I rolled out the air mattress with great fanfare- only to find it covered in mold! After tending to my immediate allergic reaction (always a good time) we needed to make a plan.
So this is the short story of how we began our trip in an empty house with nothing to sleep on- we booked it to a hotel in Concord and arrived in time to have some free wifi to update our blog.
Tomorrow should be less stressful, and we can focus on planning our first day of driving after getting some sleep!
Always an adventure- and trying hard to just roll with the punches!
